A brilliant entrepreneur of Indian heritage, Anu got her start in entrepreneurship when she launched India’s first wine bar and flash sales site, Exclusively.In. With one successful venture under her belt, she proceeded to make the process much easier for fellow underrepresented founders. She then embarked on her angel investor journey, launching Female Founders Fund in 2013, designed to make investments in female founded startups. Rejecting well-set patterns in VC, she found her journey difficult, but persisted in raising a significant $8+ million fund and publishing specific numbers of female New York founders who have managed to get their startups to A rounds. To date, Female Founders Fund has invested in 30+ women-led startups and focuses on marketplaces, e-commerce, web-enabled services, and platforms.
